Jon C Flint

As new technological products and services become more and more complex, Jon's interests as a designer lie in dissecting these complexities and distilling them into simple and unique physical forms. Grounded in the domestic space, often the first port of call for new technologies to impact our lives, these forms manifest as IoT appliances, mirrors, salesman suitcases, workshops, and even rooms from the future. Jon holds a BA in Product Design from Central Saint Martins, and an MA in Interaction Design from Goldsmiths, University of London. From 2015 to 2018 he worked as a designer prototyper for the acclaimed futures design practice Superflux. Over the years he has shown work at the: Tate Exchange, Asia Culture Center, V&A, Vitra Design Museum, CCCB, and more. And led talks and workshops in Montréal, Canada to Shanghai, China. He was one of the delegates of the ‘Living Research 2018’ programme by The British Council, exploring maker culture in China. Jon works on projects with Vytas Jankauskas as a co-founder of the practice-based studio VJF. He is a member of the Cached Collective, formed at the Hive social innovation residency at 'thecamp' in Provence, France. Jon is part of the design associate network at the Design Council. In 2019 Jon was selected as one of the 10x10 emerging designers through the Design Connections programme by the British Council.
